Shelby County residents now have increased access to the services of the Universal Parenting Places (UPPs) with the opening of the fourth UPPs facility on May 19th at Christ Community Health Services – Raleigh, located at 3481 Austin Peay Highway, Memphis, TN 38128. The location, as with all UPPs, is founded and overseen by the Memphis-based ACE Awareness Foundation and is open immediately.

“We are increasing our capacity to support families in their efforts to prevent adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) which have a lasting negative impact for children and their future wellbeing,” said Ellen Rolfes, executive director of the ACE Awareness Foundation. “By opening a fourth UPPs location, parents and caregivers have even more options and easier access for receiving no cost parenting support to help them navigate difficult, stressful situations.”

“We are thrilled to be a part of the UPP family and open the fourth UPP site today at Christ Community,” said Shantelle Leatherwood, CEO of Christ Community. “UPPs are an original and exciting model and we believe it will have a generational impact on area families and ultimately our community.”

The groundbreaking celebration for the Christ Community UPP included Mark H. Luttrell, Mayor of Shelby County and Robin Karr-Morse, author, therapist and national speaker who is a leader of the ACE movement and one of the visionaries behind the UPPs.
